You don’t frequently hear the words “luxury” and “off-road” used in the same sentence, unless you’re talking about the new KIA Telluride. According to a press release by Chad Kolb of Kia Motors America, Inc., the all-new midsize KIA Telluride beat out more than 30 truck and sport-utility cars for best-in-show in a two-day competition at the first Texas Invitational hosted by the Texas Motor Press Association. Many of these were legendary off-road and luxury utility vehicles. Out of all the cars in this category, the KIA Telluride was voted the best.

The all-new Kia Telluride won first place in the SUV category at the first-ever Texas Off-Road Invitational hosted by the Texas Motor Press Association. More than 30 truck and sport-utility media evaluated the all-new mid-size SUV at General Sam’s Offroad Park in Huntsville, Texas. After comparing it to more than a dozen other SUVs, many of them legendary off-roaders and luxury utility vehicles, the Telluride was voted best.
This award is the third prize the new Kia Telluride has taken home this month alone. It received the best-in-show award at the Northwest Automotive Press Association (NWAPA) “Mudfest” and the Texas Auto Writers Association “Texas Auto Roundup.” It’s no wonder the all-new KIA Telluride is already known as the best off-road luxury vehicle. Its off-road dexterity rivals the traditional rugged SUVs on mud, rocks, hills and other terrain. This is a car that can seamlessly transition from urban to suburban to the off-road adventure lifestyle.
The all-new 2020 Telluride has also earned Cars.com’s “best in show” at the 2019 Detroit auto show. Several features that distinguish the new Telluride include its active rear-passenger alert that sends a notification to your phone if movement in the back seat is detected while the vehicle is locked and its audio mode that will power only the front speakers if the kids are sleeping in the backseat. This makes the 2020 Telluride a family vehicle as much as an off-road adventure vehicle, enhancing the versatility of this model.
