The 2017 Kia Niro is the newest model of hybrid released by Kia but with an interesting twist; it doesn’t look like a typical hybrid. As hybrids are becoming more and more popular in the United States; Kia is designing the 2017 Kia Niro to have more pop and style than its main competitor- The Toyota Prius. With the Niro, Kia is aiming for consumers who want all eco benefits that a hybrid provides, but with a more modern and exciting style.

Main Goal Of The 2017 Kia Niro

Kia’s main goal for the Niro was achieving a combined 50-mpg, and achieved that goal with 52/49/50 mpg city/highway/combined in the base FE model. The LX and EX models of the Niro were not far behind, but due to a slight increase in weight achieved slightly under the FE at 51/46/49.

The engine that fuels this new car and its impressive 50-mpg combined is a four-cylinder 1.6-liter GDI unit, producing 104 hp.
